EC commission may have elected by the president, She should realize that the agency exists because of the voters. I find it sicken by the political parties have so much influence in the day to day lives of Ghanaian citizen. EC commissioner should have been the one to even initiate voter registeration strategies issue due the concerns from the last elections. I personally think that her lack of initiatives to change the voter registeration is a big concern. Various States in the US are in the process of going through voter registeration changes and requirements. While it might have been introduced by a political party, the cases have been or are being argued in court for invalidity.. Now even though the US case has not related legalities, EC commissioner may still learn something that could be used to fix the current voter issues that. Ghana facing. Just a thought

No Sir, Corporal Darko, drivers should not be careful only because the X'mas season is here. Drivers should be careful AT ALL TIMES so that they do not continue to cause heartache to the loved ones of their accident victims.

On a more serious note, where was the Sunyani to Accra bus driver RUNNING to? I have personally travelled on some of the Sunyani to Accra overnight busses, and some drivers make the journey in LESS THAN 6 (six) hours. Sacrilegious!!! Not surprising, though PAINFUL, that the irresponsible behaviour of one such driver has resulted in the demise of the twelve persons reported.

This unfortunate tragedy SHOULD cause the VIP and similar transport companies to institute measures to ensure that, except in situations of inevitability, passengers arrive in one-piece at their destinations. How? I profer a few suggestions:
1. Tune the engines of these overnight busses to have a MAXIMUM speed limit.
2. Instal an inter-com system in ALL busses used for long-distance journeys and make it MANDATORY for ALL drivers to report their positions on a particular route to a central point when these drivers arrive at designated towns or points en route. (With proper planning, it should not be difficult for the central point to notice and warn a driver of over-speeding and take appropriate sanctions against a culpable driver, including dismissal for repeated infractions!!!).
3. Encourage passengers to report an irresponsible behaviour of a driver en route by empowering such passengers to call to given telephone numbers, PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED IN AND ON THE BUSSES. It should be noted, however, that any complaints will have to be addressed professionally and reporting passengers should NOT be made to feel regretful , (in any way), for making a report about a driver's behaviour if this suggested reporting system is to achieve its intended objective.
